Avonmore School is a maintained school and our Governing Body is guided by the Department of Education regulations and has three core functions:
- Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance and management of staff
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
The Governors of Avonmore Primary School are made up of a variety of individuals from different backgrounds and professions, including the local community and businesses, the school community and the local council. Collectively they have the skills, connections and dynamics to support the school, working together in striving for high aspirations, the best education for all of our pupils and the job satisfaction for our staff.
